I am starting to think scribd is a scam. I am trying to cancel my free trial and I am being told that an account with my email address does not exist (even though its the email that Scribd sent my receipt and follow up notifications to) and that my password is incorrect, even though I know it isn't. Attempts to recover password and contact support have gone unanswered. How am I supposed to cancel my membership if I am being told that my account exists but wrong password but also that my account doesn't exist at all?
UPDATE: I submitted another help support request as per the reply of the Scribd rep to this review, and again nothing has been done. For the Scribd rep who replied, this is my support ticket #3269627.
For some reason that I am not aware yet, scribd chaged me for a subscription I neve agreed in the first place.
I opened a request for a refund and haven't received any answer. I tried to check my e-mail and see if I had agreed to it or if there was any confirmation of a subscription, but nothing appeared.
I am deeply frustrated with this platform and theses tricks to make money on us. Seriously,

Absolute scam, says cancel any time, but they make it impossible to cancel. I've been paying this for nearly a year and can't get into my account to cancel it. I've done the reset password so many times and they don't email you anything, so there's no way of my cancelling. There's also no phone number or email address for the company
Scam. Thought was cancelled and as per the reviewer below, it mimicks cancellation but not really. Been unknowingly paying since 2019 and unable to get any money back. Avoid the trial as it is hard to get out of. Ticket number 3292073
They are cunning. It would take you three steps to cancel subscription. In each steps you have to scroll at the bottom of page and click continue cancellation. It's shrewdly designed to make you fell you I've canceled the subscription but it continued. I almos paid for 9 months. My mistake that I was not checking the credit card statement.
Can't log in anymore, it says my email address doesn't exist. Last time I contacted their support, it took them almost a month to reply. They are never late with charging you, though. I opened another support ticket now #3275741 Probably have to wait for another month for a reply while I don't even have access to the service I have paid for.
I stopped the subscription, I deleted the account, and yet I still get charged. Absolute scammers, I never hated a site more.
I have had an account for almost a year. My daughters signed up last week. Now my account and both my daughters accounts have been deleted with no reason why. When we try to log in it says no account found with that email or username. It's bad enough that their definition of "unlimited" doesn't match the dictionary definition but I became used to that. This is frustrating especially since the last time I reached out to customer support, it took them 3 weeks to respond and I had to reach out multiple times before they did.
Last week I tried signing one of my daughters up for scribd and it continuously told me the payment would not go through even though I tried multiple cards and checked with the credit card companies who all said that there were not even attempts to charge my cards. Now all our accounts are deleted. My accounts and both my daughters. It just says no account found with that email or username. No explanation. No email sent to me and I've been a member since last July; 9 months.
my ticket is 3265806
my daughters from last week is 3261290
that is 4000 tickets in just one week which explains why it takes support so long to respond but maybe if they fixed some of these issues they wouldn't have so many tickets in the first place.

I suscribed in october-november, and a few days in canceled the suscription.it has been many months now and I just realized they have been charging me every month! Went back and I did not have an active acount, had to cancel my card.
I created an account and started with the free 30 days trial period. After three weeks, I tried to cancel my trial period, but the website does not recognize my email anymore (it says: "No account found with that email or username"). I tried to use "forgot my password" but I don't receive any email either. I also tried to create a new account with the same email, but then it also says that this email has already been used by another account.
To solve the issue, I have submitted three requests in the "Support" section, but till now I have not received any feedback. I'm afraid Scribed uses this bug in its system to charge me after their trial period. Given the reviews above, my concern has even been more reinforced. Is there any suggestion for me here?
Thank you in advance for any advice or suggestions you may have for me.
My family is very much enjoying our subscription. We listen to endless books with my kids, and my husband and I read on there all the time. There are many popular and new titles that I am surprised are available. Unlimited listening and reading is excellent!
I've opened a ticket with their support: #3202682
I cannot cancel my subscription from Scridb, already tried with all my emails, facebook, etc and all the accounts says i am not a "full member" or an active plan, but i am receiving TWO debits from my credit card:
My credit card number ends on 722 VISA
I need you to take off me from your page and STOP charging me this.
I logged to Scribd with all my emails, facebook account, google accounts, and none of those ones has any active subscription or credit card info added there.
I need you to STOP this, otherwise I will need to talk with a lawyer, I do not want any refund, i just need you to STOP CHARGING ME!

Try visiting their support site, logging in/verifying your email, and checking to see if you're "eligible for a refund". These guys are shady as hell, though, so if you've used your account within the last 30 days they may not offer a refund at all.

Lol Jerry G., you are full of $#*!. Taking access away after 1 or 2 days, deciding after 2 books that a person is a "voracious reader" and taking away access, only offering access on the day of payment and then cutting the access til the next payment date, and on and on and on. Scribd is a SCAM. I cancelled my free membership but I do not trust you bastards because so many people say they are charged for months after they cancelled. I am calling my credit card and telling them to NEVER authorize payment to scribd. I cannot wait for the lawsuits. You people are DEPLORABLE CHEATERS AND THIEVES.
